Honest, personal outreach only
- Contact businesses one at a time, about a domain you actually own, offered at a real price.
- Say who you are and how to reach you. Never pretend to be a registrar, a marketplace, a government body or the business itself.
- Never imply that a business must buy your domain, that its current name is at risk, or that you will use the name against it.
- PitchName writes the pitch; you review it and send it yourself, from your own email or phone. PitchName never sends emails or messages for you.
No spam
- Follow the anti-spam and privacy laws that apply to you and to the people you contact, such as CAN-SPAM in the United States, GDPR and ePrivacy in Europe, and PECR in the UK.
- Keep the opt-out line in your messages, and stop contacting anyone who asks you to. Mark them Not interested in PitchName.
- Do not use PitchName to build or send bulk email campaigns, to buy or sell contact lists, or to load contacts into mass-mailing tools.
- Do not contact private individuals. PitchName is for reaching businesses about business web addresses.
Respect trademarks
- Do not offer a domain that contains someone else's brand or trademark to that brand, its competitors or its customers.
- Do not register, hold or sell names in bad faith to profit from a brand (cybersquatting). PitchName's trademark warning helps, but it is not legal advice.
Use the service fairly
- Business details come from public listings and public business websites you could open yourself. Use them only to offer your domains, never resell or publish them.
- Do not try to get around plan limits, share an account, resell access, or automate PitchName beyond its own features.
- Do not use PitchName to overload, disrupt or get around the security of Google Maps, any website, or PitchName itself.
- Do not break the terms of the marketplaces and services you use alongside PitchName.
What happens if these rules are broken
We may warn you, limit features, or suspend or close the account, depending on how serious it is. Accounts used for spam, impersonation or trademark abuse are closed. If you receive an unwanted message that came from a PitchName user, tell us at support@pitchname.com and we will look into it.
